Since PR relies on Sentai as source material, some of the fun behind watching PR is seeing how they adapt Sentai footage into PR contexts. Sometimes, the Sentai footage is adapted to include Sentai context merely re-purposed under PR convention (such as Wild Force and Samurai being americanized versions of their respective Sentai series to some extent). Then there's adaptations of Sentai footage with the Sentai context overwritten completely so that they actually fit PR. This thread is for examples of the latter.
An example would be one episode of Space where Alpha pilots the Astro Megazord. The original Sentai context is that the Astro Megazord (Galaxy Mega) is being controlled via an A.I. program in order to prove that it's superior to human control. Though the A.I. program does well initially, it does not account for the fact that the lobster monster is made of an alloy(?) similar to the Mega Saber and therefore can withstand getting struck by it. The A.I. program therefore has difficulty actually fighting the monster in the end and the Mega Rangers come in to defeat the monster using their skills and experience piloting Galaxy Mega.
The Space context is that the rangers are currently held down by cuffs and about to be attacked by the giant lobster monster. Alpha sees this and decides to go down to help them by engaging the monster, even though he doesn't have experience piloting the megazord. Hence he has difficulty fighting the monster, and the Space Rangers manage to break free of their cuffs (thanks to Andros) to pilot the megazord and defeat the monster. I think this is a great adaptation of the Sentai footage, made even better that by establishing Alpha as being able to control the Astro Megazord, he's able to do so again in a later megazord heavy episode where the rangers fight Psycho Red/Yellow/Black.
