my friend with schizophrenia is extremely seflish!!!!!

I don't know if this is part of the illness, but my friend is testing my patience to the limit! I have lived in a group home with several people with schizophrenia but this person is out of the norm. He is extremely selfish, and barks at me for the least little thing. I am almost tempted to tell him to f... off but I feel guilty because I know he has schizophrenia. I have watched "A Beautiful Mind" twice, and I am sure John Nash would NOT have allowed someone to put up with his B.S., (pardon the term). I am new here, and I have no idea what to do. The last friend I had with schizophrenia who acted like an ***... I cut off and he killed himself. Can you imagine the overwhelming guilt I feel for that!!!!???? Still, I deserve to be treated like a human being, damn it!!! This friend of mine, cuts me down, and berates me every chance he gets. I should point out that I am not good-looking (ugly, actually) but smart and damn it, I will NOT be treated like that!!! He is very good-looking and eight years younger than me which already has me suspicious, but anyways, I have my own illness to deal with and I can't help him if he drinks and smokes pot. I would really like to know if I should just cut him loose or keep him as a friend. Thank you for your advice.
