Hey fellow rangerboard members,
I have been a lurker for awhile and thought it was time I signed up since I just got my own Power Rangers Legacy set. I needed some help regarding the Power Rangers Legacy DVD Collection that I recently bought directly from Shout Factory and was happy to own 20 years of Power Ranger shows but I ran into some problems. I love the set, the tins, the discs, the art book, most of the helmet, except the defects on part of the helmet.
On the back of the helmet where the tins go in, there is some very noticeable defects on the right and left side of the helmet where it seems the tin case area meets the helmet. It looks like glue coming out of the right and left sides of the helmet as it was not bonded correctly in that area. It is noticable and its like a huge color difference from the rest of the helmet and looks poorly put together when I keep seeing these areas. I know I have seen unboxing videos that did not show this problem.
I emailed Shout that I needed a replacement but they got back to me saying that this was part of the manufacturing process and that they use a material called Bondo to put the helmet together and that a replacement would not fix anything and that all helmets looked like this. I was surprised by this response. I am a collector so this is something I can't ignore and their response that this is normal and there is nothing they can do surprised me. So this is where I am asking for your help, do you have this issue with your helmet near the right and left sides of the helmet, about near the top right and left where the first tin is, where the velvet tray unit is attached to the main helmet near the back.
Thanks for your help with this!
