5 teenagers are selected by former Blue Ranger Billy Cranston and his daughter Michelle to save the world from the evil King Mongor. They are initially attacked by an army of Ultra Putties but are saved by a mysterious white ninja. They are teleported to Billy's lab where they receive their new powers.

Bobby- The Green Ranger of Clubs
Katie- The Pink Ranger of Hearts
John- The Yellow Joker Ranger
They are also given ninja powers in order to defeat the Ultra Putties.
