So, I've been out of the Power Rangers circuit for awhile now. Had a really nice morpher collection awhile back, but I sold it off due to money and space concerns.
With Super Megaforce now out, I figured that the Legendary Morpher would be a nice substitute for having an entire collection: Fraction of the price, fraction of the space. All I'd have to do is collect the keys.
Still, I'm having a hard time deciding between the Legendary Morpher and the original version, the Mobirate. I keep eyeing up that Mobirate, but every time I think about pulling the trigger, I see that $60+ price tag, and remember that I can just walk in to my local Walmart and pick it up at 1/3 the cost.
I've educated myself a bit on the differences between the two. The smaller size of the Legendary Morpher and keys don't bother me (I actually kinda like that the American keys flip open automatically). The fact that the Legendary Morpher doesn't look completely accurate when the key isn't inserted is a bit bigger of a complaint, but one I can deal with. One thing that is a bit of a killer is the fact that there seems to be ALOT of Rangers and teams not covered by the keys. But I can deal, if need be. Hell, I might buy extras and just custom up the missing keys myself.
But the problem with the Mobirate and their keys is pretty self-explanatory: It'll cost WAY more to try and get a Mobirate, plus the keys.
So I ask: I understand that the Mobirate is better, but is it THAT much better to justify the way higher cost?
Which one I choose will also change how I decide to collect the keys. If I go Mobirate, I'll just try to get a complete collection of red ranger keys, I won't bother trying for full team completion. If I go Legendary, I'll go for full completion, since the American keys are much cheaper and easier to get.
Also, side question: What's the list of American keys? How many are available right now, and how many haven't been released yet (but we know they will be released)?
And if it matters, I'm more of a fan of PR than of Sentai (although I certainly appreciate it, hence why I'd go for full red completion of a Mobirate).
