[REVIEW] Rav Seams Costume Review

Where do I even begin?

I received my wonderful Blue Lightspeed suit from Rav a few days ago. Already worn it several times, and it's pretty safe to say I love this thing.

The suit was ordered in the beginning of February, making the turn-around time just around 2 months. This being said, I was on a long list, so naturally, it didn't take him 2 months to make it, in fact, the man is a sewing machine himself, making it a piece of cake to bash out a Grade A suit in short time.

Shipping was just shy of a week, so that's fairly good, concidering I live halfway around the globe (in a country that is apparently a country within the United Kingdom *RoughRavCough*).

Anyhow!

Onto the fun stuff. I have spoken to him, and he asked me to clearify some facts about his material.

What he uses is 2-way stretch and is accurate it terms of stretch to any Sentai suit. Having worn a Stunt Carranger suit (curtousy of Matthew Wilson)I can validify that 2-way is correct.

It seems theres a misconception that 2-way means limited movability, but if it is actual 2-way, and sewn the right way (going up and down), it shouldn't be a problem to move at all, which is indeed the case. I have shot a video of ridiculousness showing what kind of stuff you can do in the suit without a problem, in the link below:

Rav has a pretty darn accurate pattern. This includes the darts; vertical stitchings in the back, used to take in the suit to follow the natural curve of an arches back, as well as the classic flap, used to cover up the rear-entry zipper. The zipper used, is a heavy duty zipper, similar to ones used by Toei.

Our genious uses a very comprehensive size chart. Follow it strictly, and you'll be golden. One thing we discussed is waistline. Many seem to believe that the belt is suppose to sit on your hips. It is in actual fact supposed to sit over your navel. At first you'll find it perhaps, silly, and feel a bit like you're in the wrong decade, but I assure you, that has been the norm, Sentai-wise, for a long time.

Rav uses your (naturally well measured) measurements, and, if you've done your part right, makes a suit that fits you more perfectly, than the suit you had custom made for your wedding/prom/who gives a shit.

Having owned close to 15 suits all by different makers, I'm putting Rav in spot #1, because of his attention to detail, overall durability, and astonishing fit. This suit is currently the best one I have, and i don't intend to ever pass it on. A very, very thank you to Rav for doing this for me.

Here are some 360 degree pictures of the suit, in direct sun.
