[SPORTS] Glasgow 2014 - Commonwealth Games

The Hosts - Team SCOTLAND

Have to admit, I'm a bit surprised no-one started a thread of this kind sooner.



The Commonwealth Games kicked off in Glasgow earlier this week to quite the astounding start, with what was apparantly a brilliant opening ceremony (I never got the chance to see it :/) in Glasgow's Parkhead stadium.





As it stands right now, England has the most medals at a total of 32 (12 gold, 11 silver, 9 bronze) with Aussie land second at 32 (11 gold, 9 silver and 12

bronze), and hosts Scotland in third place at 15 (7 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze).



Honestly, I'm not a spot kind of person, but I have to admit, I'm loving the atmosphere this has created over here. Not only are the people enjoying having such a phenomenon on their doorstep, but the fact that Scotland's actually up there winning gold medals is something for us to smile at - we're not used to doing well at sport. So far i'm enjoying the buzz way more than the olympics, and no doubt having a Team Scotland to cheer for helps. lol
