[TOKU] How could Saban have made Masked Rider NOT suck?

From what I understand about Saban's Masked Rider, most of what pissed off Shotaro Ishinomori involved the use of footage from Kamen Rider J and ZO, as well as stupid crap like Dex using cream pies to fight monsters and the generally goofy tone of the whole series.



Now, I have my own idea as to how Saban could've handled Masked Rider (and ported series BEFORE Kamen Rider Black RX), if they'd have had the budget, but I just want to know: What do all of you think Saban could've done to make Masked Rider as cool as Power Rangers, and not piss off Shotaro Ishinomori?
