I know you guys are getting sick of the recent polls but this will be the last one.
First of all let me start off by saying I do think it's stupid that with every season we feel the need to compare the pink and yellow rangers just because they have vaginas, even when they don't have that significant of a relationship (Jen and Katie). Especially considering we rarely compare Blue and Green/Black rangers, much less Red Ranger. But I know people do it anyway.
I think this thread will be my last hoorah in the whole "Yellow vs Pink" thing because it is really stupid and I've had enough of it, I'm sick of it. This is just a question that's been buzzing around in my head for a while now and I would really like an answer. When everything's over with in this thread, I'm done.
So by now, we all know how it. In the beginning with Mighty Morphin, all rangers got pretty much equal focus. In fact there was actually a point where point where the blue and yellow rangers, Trini and Billy both had three focus episodes while red and pink, Jason and Kimberly only had one. Then Tommy showed up, I think I just myself another reason to hate him, and the status quo of the show completely changed. Red, Sixth and Pink Rangers are the stars, while Blue, Green/Black and Yellow are in the back.
However sometimes seasons go against the grain, there are exceptions. And when it comes to Yellow Rangers in particular, I just wanna who was the first. Who was the first Yellow Ranger to be the "leading lady" of her season making the Pink/White Ranger the "other girl". I narrowed down to four choices because I've seen other people bring them up and make strong arguments for them. I'm sure Tanya and Taylor are gonna get support. I STRONGLY disagree with the notion that Ashley was the first but I've seen people say she is. And Kelsey fits in by the fact she's never individually deemed as the "other girl". If you don't agree with any of these options, then chose Other.
As for Yellow Rangers not included in the poll. Well, as you can read above, someone can definitely make a strong argument for Trini. But Aisha?:005:No. We all thought Maya and Gia were gonna be the center of attention in Lost Galaxy and Megaforce but Kendrix and Emma ended up getting more focus. There's no point in bringing up SPD and Samurai because both girls get the shaft in those seasons anyway. I almost included Emily though, but I doubt she'd get much votes and if she was the first, that would be very depressing. Not to much to be said for Ronny and especially Katie.
I haven't cast my vote yet, I need to give it some more thought. This thread might get stressful for me because it involves talking about characterization, screentime and character development and some of you guys know how much it grind my gears when people get that stuff confused.
