So is everyone just about over the con crud? Now that we're feeling better, I'd like to announce a few things.
The Lexington Comic and Toy Convention will be March 13th - 15th in 2015.
VENDORS: Booth space will go on sale April 15th. Don't wait to get them this year. Space was sold out in October last year and I really don't look for them to last that long this year.
PUBLIC: Tickets go on sale October 15th. If you're wanting a VIP pass, don't wait to buy those. These sell out and they sell out quickly. It doesn't matter why you didn't get them before they sold out or how much money you're willing to pay for one after they sell out. When they're gone, they're gone.
VOLUNTEERS: We will start accepting volunteers October 15th. If you are interested in volunteering with us and you are an honest, dedicated person, we would love to have your help. If you are wanting to volunteer just for a free pass or to get autographs and to completely disregard your job as a volunteer, don't bother.
Jarrod and I (and a few of my dedicated staff) have already been talking about the changes we will be making for 2015. We always strive to make our event better and take the suggestions, ideas and criticisms we receive very seriously. We're aware that the lines were too long this year (even though our awesome check in girls were checking in advance ticket holders at an incredible rate of 1 person every 18 seconds at peak time). We are also aware that the lines (that ended up being one line) were confusing at best. We had done some things differently that we thought would help crowd control and put people through faster but with the incredible crowd turnout on Saturday, it didn't help. We are already working on changing the check in process to make it a faster and more pleasant experience for all. As a con in it's third year, we are blown away by the support and attendance. Please continue to bare with us as we continue to work through our "growing pains" and to try to bring you the best con in Kentucky. We're very excited to begin the process of bringing you guys lots of awesome for next year, but we will be putting the planning on hold next week as we take a small, much needed vacation. Clearer heads make for better planning. If you are trying to reach us, via pm email or phone, and we don't respond right away, I promise we'll get back to you when we return home. A huge thanks goes out to you all, for without you, we wouldn't be.
