The continuity of Power Rangers isn't perfect. Shocking, I know. But when you marathon the franchise, you've got to put things somewhere, regardless of whether or not they fit. This thread is for noting where you put them. Do you just stick them on the end of a season as an "appendix"? Do you tack them on at an arbitrary change in the status quo? Do you just ignore them entirely? Do you try and put them in the place where they come closest to fitting? I try to do the latter.
For the sake of simplicity, I'm assuming we're all using the Shout!/Lionsgate DVD ordering and numbering as a "base". For one or two cases, I note where I differ from the DVD ordering for regular episodes due to continuity concerns, but their numbering is maintained.
Mighty Morphin Season Two
-"Lights, Camera, Action" (S02E33): Move to just after "Forever Friends" (S02E37). This is the only explicit error in Shout!'s episode ordering (not counting "Wormhole" below), and I wish we would have caught it back when Brian was asking for our help. LCA has a mini-clip-show that heavily features scenes from FF, so it comes afterward.
-Alpha's Magical Christmas (DtV Special): Immediately before "The Great Bookala Escape" (S02E36). TGBE is the first episode with evidence placing it in 1995 (a calendar in the background), so AMC must precede it.
Mighty Morphin Season Three
-The Movie (Theatrical Film): Immediately before "Ninja Quest, Part I" (S03E04). This is essentially an alternate telling of how they got the Ninja powers, and it came out first, so I place it immediately prior to the canonical series of events.
-Lord Zedd's Monster Heads (DtV Special): Immediately following "A Ranger Catastrophe, Part II" (S03E18). ARC mentions that Kat will start school in the fall, and since LZMH takes place on Halloween, it must follow this.
-The Good, the Bad, and the Stupid (DtV Special): Immediately following "Changing of the Zords, Part III" (S03E21). Takes place during an alternate version of the episode where Bulk and Skull are trapped in a cave during the See Monster battle.
-"I'm Dreaming of a White Ranger" (S03E16): Move to just after "A Different Shade of Pink, Part III" (S03E25). If you count the scenes from the DtV version of IDoaWR, it has to take place within this episode, so after it is the closest place. If you don't count the scenes, then you still need to move it forward because it has to follow LZMH (because Christmas follows Halloween), so why not here? :P
Side Note: I watch season one of Masked Rider after season three of MMPR, then season two of MR after Zeo.
Turbo
-Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (Theatrical Film): Immediately before "Shift into Turbo, Part I", because that's obviously where it's meant to take place, what with the flashback and everything.
Another Side Note: I also watch Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation after Turbo.
S.P.D.
-"Wormhole" (S13E32): Move to just after "Badge" (S13E34). It fits best between two scenes toward the end of "Badge", so afterward is the closest position.
Samurai
-"Party Monsters" (S18E21): Immediately after "The Ultimate Duel" (S18E20). Dayu is still on Xandred's ship with an intact harmonium, but flashbacks confirm that it takes place after Rhinosnorus had been defeated, so this is the closest it comes to fitting.
-"Christmas Together, Friends Forever" (S18E23): Immediately after "Party Monsters". Christmas follows Halloween, and there's no evidence that it takes place any later in the series.
Super Samurai
-"Clash of the Red Rangers" (S18E22): Immediately after "The Rescue" (S19E05). CotRR features the Shark Attack Mode unlocked in "The Rescue".
-"Trickster Treat" (S19E21): Immediately before "The Master Returns". Xandred is present on his boat in TT, but sinks into the river to recuperate in TMR.
-"Stuck on Christmas" (S19E22): Immediately before "Fight Fire with Fire". FFwF starts an unbroken series of events leading to the end of the season, and SoC needs to follow TT, so here's as good a place as any.
Megaforce
-"Raising Spirits" (S20E21): Immediately after "Gosei Ultimate" (S20E14). This is where it aired, and it fits without trouble. It helps that this falls between "arcs".
-"The Robo Knight Before Christmas" (S20E22): Immediately after "The Messenger" (S20E19). This is problematic thanks to the school situation, and the general lack of tension that "The Messenger" would inspire is jarring. However, since the only alternative is placing it before "The Messenger", it makes more sense than the Rangers waiting until after Christmas to celebrate Malkor's defeat and the shipwreck still smouldering after who knows how long (along with a mortally-wounded Vrak lying under the wreckage for all that time).
That's where I put them. What about you?
