[DISCUSSION] DX Toy storage question - baggies

I've recently been going through my large collection of DX Sentai mechs. Selling off some, repacking others into boxes for a future move. One thing I was doing was taking out some of the DX mechs to photograph before putting them up on ebay. All the recent mechs, maybe mid-2000s onwards, they come in cardboard trays individually bagged in plastic.

Do most of you guys toss out all the bags when you get a new DX import mech? I'm kinda OCD and after displaying them on my shelf, if I have to return them to the boxes, I re-bag every part before putting them back in their tray slots. As I take them out again to photograph them, I realize this is a lot of work, considering I have so many boxes of DX stuff.

I know with some of the Marvel statues I buy, they come wrapped up in like tissue paper in case the paint hadn't fully cured yet. DX Sentai is plastic, and its not really painted like that. Whats the point of the bags? It's not like the cardboard trays should be able to scratch up the plastic parts. And the slots for all the parts hold them pretty snug, even without the bags. The 80s, 90s mechs from Japan all used styrofoam inserts, which held the parts, no plastic bags. Only since switching to cardboard inserts. Styrofoam isn't used since it's less environment friendly, and the cardboard trays look like they're made from recycled pulp. Yet, then they proceed to stick like a dozen or more plastic bags inside.....seems like they negate any enviro-friendly reason.

I dunno, I'm just OCD, I figure if I re-sell them down the road, people seeing them bagged up in the tray, might think these are in better condition *like new*.

What do you guys do? Save 'em? Toss 'em immediately upon opening?
